On April 22, a hydrogen energy delegation from Global.SF, California, United States, visited Houpu Co., Ltd. The two sides held in-depth exchanges on topics including the application of green hydrogen in the transportation sector, hydrogen refueling station infrastructure development, and industrial chain collaboration, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on future cooperation.
Mr. Jianhua Zou shared China’s domestic hydrogen application landscape and elaborated on multiple practical case studies of Houpu’s hydrogen energy projects. In Shanxi Province, the company has integrated coal mine–derived gray hydrogen (a by-product of coal mining) with regional freight demand, having successfully completed the construction of several hydrogen refueling stations. In Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Houpu is participating in an integrated green hydrogen production–storage–refueling–utilization project, supporting logistics operations for the China–Europe Railway Express. In Guangdong Province, Houpu serves as the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) general contractor for a renewable-energy–based (biogas) hydrogen production and refueling mother station project; the entire production process entails zero incremental carbon emissions, thereby opening novel pathways and directions for urban solid waste treatment and clean energy utilization. Regarding end-use applications, Houpu’s independently developed hydrogen-powered two-wheelers have achieved commercial deployment and demonstrate compelling economic viability—representing a valuable exploration of hydrogen energy in short-distance mobility.
The two sides jointly affirmed that the large-scale development of the hydrogen industry necessitates systematic advancement across “points,” “lines,” and “areas.” Grounded in concrete application scenarios and supportive local government policies, it is essential to integrate all segments—including hydrogen production, refueling, and end-use—to cultivate replicable business models.
Following the meeting, Houpu Co., Ltd. and the delegation signed the Memorandum of Understanding. The parties will explore cooperative opportunities in areas such as hydrogen project implementation and industrial chain resource integration, jointly promoting pragmatic Sino–U.S. collaboration in the hydrogen energy sector.
This inspection and exchange activity has opened a new window for Houpu Co., Ltd. to expand into the North American market and participate in global hydrogen industrial chain coordination.
